A text PDF and a scan are both read page by page. The rows come back as date, description, counterparty, amount and running balance, and the balance check runs before the download. A statement without an account is up to 10 pages, three files a day.

Where a statement still comes from a file
Evidilo does not replace a bank connection. It returns a file your accounting program imports, and it calls no bank or accounting-program API. Where the connection does not reach is where a statement has to be uploaded by hand:
- History from before the date the connection was made, because a connection does not fill backwards
- Accounts the aggregator will not connect, and closed accounts
- Banks outside the aggregator's coverage
- Clients who refuse a connection, or have no way to make one
